Merlene Hodgson

Director

Merlene Hodgson is a seasoned business leader with over 20 years’ experience in administration, financial management, operations, and strategic leadership across multiple sectors. She has held key leadership roles within both privately held and franchise-based businesses, including her long-term position as Group Administrator for a large group of over 30 companies and trusts, and 15 years as Managing Director and Franchisee of Fernwood Fitness Woden.  She has also been the director of a public unlisted company for 18 years.

 

Her expertise includes business operations, financial oversight, compliance, team development, and stakeholder engagement. With qualifications in management, executive administration, and professional coaching, she is also accredited in behavioural profiling (EDISC), emotional fitness consulting, and mental health first aid.

Known for her integrity, analytical thinking, and people-focused leadership, Merlene brings a calm, considered approach to governance and strategic decision-making. She is committed to building values-driven, high-performing cultures and supporting organisations in achieving sustainable growth and operational excellence.

Mike Munro J.D. MBA

General Counsel

Chief Compliance Officer

Michael F. (Mike) Munro is responsible for all aspects of the legal, regulatory and compliance related work of Cseq Global, both within Australia and globally. This is based on the simple premise that Cseq Global will at all times, in both internal and external interactions, “Do the Right Thing”, for all its Stakeholders.

 

Since early in his career, Mike has emphasized the absolute importance of Sustainability including Environmental, Social and Governance matters, reiterating that each must be focused on and adhered to for a company to succeed and thrive.  

 

Mike has extensive experience working in high profile roles for large global companies including The Dow Chemical Company, Baker Hughes Oil and Gas; Transocean Offshore Limited; Odebrecht Engineering and Construction (OEC); and most recently for Tesla Inc.  Mike was also a Partner in one of the largest and most respected global law firms, Norton Rose Fulbright.  

 

  • At Dow Chemical, Mike was responsible for a wide range of Financial work including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and new business development including licensing of Dow’s proprietary catalyst technology. He was also Dow’s lead counsel for its internal Financial Advisory Team responsible for Dow’s multi-billion dollar employee pension funds. 

  • At Transocean, Mike led the company’s efforts to properly deal with allegations of inappropriate actions outside the United States and the 2010 BP/Transocean Deepwater Horizon Gulf of Mexico disaster.  

  • At OEC, Mike was brought in to develop and implement global Compliance and Internal Audit Programs immediately after OEC was found to have paid over USD 1 Billion in bribes in 10 countries.  Mike led meetings with governments and the press in Latin America and the Caribbean.

  • At Tesla, Mike was hired as associate general counsel leading global compliance in support of the company’s rapid global expansion.

 

Mike has been involved in numerous OECD compliance or sustainability related initiatives, and is currently on various advisory committees.

 

Mike holds his US undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan as well as Legal and MBA degrees from the University of Notre Dame.  Mike also completed post-graduate studies at INSEAD, Fountainebleau, France.

Jonathan Gray

BChEng (Hons) MCom

Chemical Engineer/Process Engineer

Jonathan Gray is a senior executive with a sharp focus on the resource industry, who brings a unique combination of strategic insight, process engineering capability and transaction execution experience. 

With an Honours Degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Commerce from Sydney University, Jonathan’s expertise and wide-ranging experience in numerous industrial processes, coupled with his proven entrepreneurship and innovation, is of great value to Cseq Global, both initially in optimising our Cseq technology and process, and also in facilitating the rollout of Cseq Plant modules in the future.

His values-driven leadership reflects his strong personal values linked to welfare, sustainability and equality; and a philosophical belief that work, community, family, and self should balance. This is complemented by strategic insight, strong business acumen and core competencies across a wide range of sectors. 

Following strong success as a chemical engineer, Jonathan moved into project financing, becoming one of Australia's most highly regarded Investment Bankers, working for ABN Amro then ANZ. Jonathan has developed several assets across base and precious metals throughout Australia and Asia, for both greenfield and brownfield expansions. During investment banking career Jonathan has financed numerous assets across the natural resources and infrastructure sectors, culminating in multi-billion export infrastructure development under an Industry-wide Mandate signed by both State and Federal Governments. 

Jonathan has successfully created and led new businesses from envisioning through to commercialisation and by leading international, high-functioning multi-disciplinary teams with a process engineering focus, he has been able to develop outstanding startups with unique technical capabilities. Some of these are;

  • Australia’s 1st fully integrated renewable energy project – simultaneously rejuvenating community infrastructure whilst generating PV energy “Behind-The-Meter” sufficient to fully satisfy internal needs whilst also powering Sydney’s northernmost fast-charging EV Station. 

  • An innovative company investigating the recovery of organic selenium compounds from geobotanical sources and is presently coordinating a syndicate of investors reinvigorating the cocoa value chain in Far North Queensland.

  • A consortium responding to the needs of industry as a result of Glencore’s decision in Oct ’23 to close its copper mining and flotation operations at Mt Isa in H2 2025.  This involves establishing the entire value chain from upstream mining operations through acid production to all elements of logistics.

Daniel Lowe is the company’s Global Head of Sales with over 25 years of technology sales experience driving growth in Government, Energy, Utilities, Mining, and Manufacturing sectors. His experience in dealing with significant companies in the industrial sector, ensures that he aligns technical solutions with business needs, navigating complex regulatory and ESG frameworks while fostering strategic partnerships. 

 

Daniel’s future-focused and strategic approach to decision making, coupled with sound commercial acumen, has enabled him to successfully lead high-performance teams to expand markets, deliver customer-centric solutions, and exceed revenue targets, particularly in energy and enterprise software. He empowers teams and builds scalable success, by means of his substantial knowledge of industry corporate requirements combined with innovative strategies and solid integrity. 

 

With a passion for mentoring and empowering teams, Daniel is a highly trusted leader that delivers impact and results. He is actively engaged in advancing community wellbeing, and contributes to business networks and sustainability initiatives, whilst balancing professional impact with personal purpose.

John Dingemanse FAICD FAIB

Co-Founder / Shareholder

John Dingemanse leads the technical and developmental aspects of Cseq Global and in particular the Cseq decarbonisation technology, as well as managing the various projects.

John is the Founder and CEO of CBM Sustainability Group, a group of companies involved in project initiation, development and delivery in a number of industry sectors including property, mining, agri-business and renewable energy. 

​

John is an entrepreneur who has founded, built up and operated numerous businesses in a range of industry sectors including Property, Professional Services, Construction and Engineering, Telecommunications, Water Management and Resources. He founded his first business at the age of 25, establishing a construction company that within 10 years was the largest construction company in Tasmania and is still operating successfully today. He has continued to establish new enterprises, build them to become fully operational and profitable and then on-sell them.

 

John is highly regarded for his creative strength, passion for innovation and focus on true sustainability. As both a business and social entrepreneur he has received national acclaim for his achievements, while his company’s projects have received numerous awards for innovation and sustainability.

​John is passionate about the environment and a committed conservationist. He is also passionate about developing resilient communities and preserving social cohesion.

 

A Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, John has been a Director for over 35 years of various corporations, and serves on a number of Boards including in the NFP sector.​

Scott Paterson BEng PMP

Production Engineer

Project Manager

Scott Paterson is currently heading up the company’s Optimisation Program, for the Cseq decarbonisation technology and process, and is leading our Team of scientists and specialist engineers in delivering the target metrics from the Pilot Plant in Melbourne in preparation for commencing the design and development of our industrial scale Cseq module later this year.

 

Scott has a proven record of achievement in successfully managing and delivering technically complex projects and possesses strong skills in budget and risk management, contract negotiation and administration. He has the ability to communicate clearly and develop effective relationships with all stakeholders in a given project. He thrives in problem solving and trouble shooting and delivering complex projects through to completion.

 

Scott has extensive experience as an Engineer and Project Manager over 30 years, in a range of industrial sectors, including mining infrastructure development, avionics software development and implementation, hydro-electric power and power transmission and general IT.

 

  • Upon achieving the rank of Wing Commander in the RAAF, Scott served as Project Manager of the RAAF F/A-18 Hornet Fighter Upgrade project following 2 years leading the RAAF Blueprint 2020 change management project.

  • At International Water (Hydro) Projects, Scott developed, designed and implemented unique hydro-electric installations throughout Papua New Guinea, bringing cost-effective renewable electricity to remote communities.

  • In the past 5 years Scott has concentrated his efforts in operating his own companies - a consultancy in PNG and a waste management business in Queensland.

 

Scott holds a Bachelor of Electronics and Communications Engineering, Post Graduate Diploma of Management Studies and is a certified Project Management Professional.

Kon Peltekis

Process Engineer

Kon is responsible for designing and implementing the processes involved in Cseq Global's decarbonisation technology. Together with his team of process engineers, process software developers, instrumentation technicians and fabricators, Kon has been involved in the design and fabrication of the Cseq process Pilot Plant based in Melbourne and is currently involved in ongoing optimisation of the Cseq process.

 

Kon has over 20 years’ experience as an Instrumentation, Process and Electrical Engineer working and sub-contracting for large ASX and International companies including Ozmotech, BP-Caltex Joint Venture, Yallourn Energy, BP Australia, Yokogawa Australia, Honeywell Controls and Kraft Foods in the Chemical, Petrochemical, Power Generation and Food Industries.

 

He is a specialist in design, specification and implementation of PLC/DCS based control systems and field instrumentation for monitoring, measurement, sub-metering and control of complex chemical and industrial processes. Kon is a member of the Institute of Instrumentation & Controls of Australia and Instrument Society of America and he holds a Diploma in Engineering from RMIT.

Dr Russell Beckett

BVSc(Hons), MSc,BA,PhD

Scientific Advisor

Dr Russell Beckett is the company’s lead Scientific Advisor and has developed unique methodology for hydrogen production by means of decarbonisation. He  is a specialist in carbon dioxide, including its production, transformation and utilisation and has extensive experience, gathered over the past twenty five years, in research that involves carbon dioxide and its chemical alterations into carbonates, bicarbonates and other products.

​

The electrochemical group in Dr Beckett’s companies has identified a way to deliver bicarbonates to the ocean, at an alkaline pH value, to buffer and prevent ocean acidification, and he is assisting Cseq Global in enhancing the Cseq Process to identify further industrial uses for carbonates and bicarbonates. 

 

Dr Beckett has been overseeing the development of the Cseq process and the design of company’s Cseq Pilot Plant which has been constructed in Melbourne. He also undertakes testing, experimentation and lab trials, which enable the company’s process engineering team to implement design modifications and adjustments to enhance the overall outcomes.
